Grab Bag

December 2014

Handmade gifts are often the most appreciated and cherished!

Here are some ideas for Gifts from the Heart

A few years ago we gave gift bags filled with Bread, Wine and Salt and included a short message that reflected our wishes for the recipient to have:

Bread - that this home may never know hunger
Salt - that life may always have flavor
Wine - that you might always know Joy!
This gift was well received.  We repeated it  a couple years later.

This past year we changed it up a bit.  We included bread, salt and sparkling cider :-)  But we also included olive oil, spices for seasoning the oil and a dipping bowl.  Our Christmas theme was entirely rustic with subdued colors, bells, pine cones and cardinals and other old-fashioned type items.  I chose gift bags that met that requirement, filled them with the above items and cut fresh herbs from my own garden and tied them on the bags with raffia.

And included this message...

And another message (that I can't get to upload) that was the inspiration for the banner now on my blog! :-)  See the herbs, what they symbolize and the scripture I chose to represent the herb.
